Editorial Standards & Sources
How Qissah researches, writes, and reviews its Islamic content — and the authentic sources we rely on.
Our Sources
Conveying Islamic knowledge is a serious responsibility (amanah). All content on Qissah is derived from primary, widely-accepted sources within Sunni Islamic scholarship:
- The Holy Quran — verse text, translation, and tafsir (exegesis).
- Tafsir Ibn Kathir — one of the most relied-upon classical commentaries on the Quran.
- Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim — the two most authentic collections of hadith.
- Qisas al-Anbiya (Ibn Kathir) — "Stories of the Prophets," our primary reference for the prophet narratives.
- The Sunan collections (Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah) — for supplications and supporting narrations, with grading noted where relevant.
Where a narration is weak (da'if) or disputed, we either omit it or clearly indicate its status. We avoid relying on unverified Israiliyyat narrations except where classical scholars have explicitly addressed them.
How We Create & Review Content
- Research — each topic is drawn from the Quran and the authentic hadith collections above.
- Write — in clear, accessible language, with Arabic text, transliteration, and translation where relevant.
- Check — claims, ayah references, and hadith attributions are verified against the primary sources before publishing.
- Date — each page records when it was last reviewed (see the "Last updated" note on our content pages).
Accuracy & Corrections
We strive for accuracy, but if you spot an error — a mistranslation, a misattributed hadith, or a typo — please tell us and we will review and correct it promptly. Reach us through our support page with the page and the issue.
